South Medford Panthers Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 5-2 loss to Lakeridge on Friday. Lakeridge took the lead on a home run in the first inning.

Lakeridge got things started in the first inning when Taylor homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Lakeridge scored three runs in the fourth inning. Lakeridge big bats were led by Santana, Taylor, and Moore, all driving in runs in the inning.

Elske led the Lakeridge to victory on the mound. He lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and one run while walking zero. Santana and Sloan entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Sloan recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Lakeridge.

Bennett Thompson took the loss for South Medford Panthers Varsity. He surrendered two runs on three hits over three innings, striking out two and walking zero.

South Medford Panthers Varsity tallied six hits on the day. Thompson and Steven Ledendecker all managed multiple hits for South Medford Panthers Varsity. Ledendecker and Thompson each collected two hits to lead South Medford Panthers Varsity.

Lakeridge collected seven hits. Smith and Santana each collected multiple hits for Lakeridge.
